Privacy Policy

Color Guesser does not collect, transmit, or share your personal data. We do not run our own servers, we do not have user accounts, and we do not maintain a database of users.

What is stored on your device

All gameplay statistics — scores, streaks, daily results, achievements, palettes, and history — are stored locally on your device using iOS UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to share it (e.g., via the share sheet).

Optional Apple services we use

Game Center (optional)

If you have Game Center enabled in iOS Settings, Color Guesser submits your scores to Apple's Game Center to power global leaderboards, the Weekly Tournament, and your friends list. This data is managed by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy. We never see, store, or transmit your Apple ID or any other identifying information. You can disable Game Center in iOS Settings at any time.

Multiplayer (optional)

When you start a local Online match, the app uses your device's local Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to discover and connect to other players nearby. No data is sent to our servers — it never leaves your local network. When you start an Internet Quick Match, Apple's Game Center matchmaking pairs you with a random opponent and relays game messages directly between players. No personal information is exchanged.

Advertising

Color Guesser shows modest advertisements provided by Google AdMob in select non-gameplay sections (Glossary, Achievements, Color Browser, Name Finder) and between online multiplayer matches.

We use non-personalized ads only. This means:

We do not collect, share, or sell any identifier that can be used to track you across apps or websites.
We do not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission because we do not track.
AdMob may collect device-level information (such as IP address, device type, coarse location at country level) solely for serving relevant ads and preventing fraud.

Ads never appear during active gameplay (Daily, Speed, Memory, etc.), inside lessons, or on the Profile screen. They appear only on browsing screens and between rounds of online multiplayer.

Rewarded ads

You can choose to watch a rewarded ad to earn in-app rewards such as streak freezes, a temporary 2× XP boost, or unlock certain designer palettes. These ads are entirely opt-in.

What we do not use

No third-party analytics SDKs (Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, etc.)
No user accounts or login
No location, contacts, or microphone access
No automatic uploads of any photo or camera capture (you can choose to load a photo locally for the Photo Palette tool — it never leaves your device)
No tracking across apps or websites
No email or push-notification list maintained by us

Children

The app is rated 4+ and is safe for all ages. We do not knowingly collect information from children. AdMob's non-personalized ads do not use behavioral profiling.

Your choices

To disable Game Center features: Settings → Game Center → toggle off.
To reset your local game data: Color Guesser → Profile → Reset all stats.
To uninstall the app: deleting it removes all local data.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
